PYCNOGENOL®
Introduction
Pycnogenol® is a natural plant product made from the bark of European coastal pine. It is a powerful antioxidant supplement containing over 40 water-soluble antioxidants, composed primarily of proanthocyanidins. Proanthocyanidins are an extremely potent subclass of antioxidant flavonoids.
The Product
- Pycnogenol is the trademark name of a potent antioxidant (free radical scavenger) that is extracted from the bark of a specific variety of pine that grows in Southern France.
- As determined by the Porter Method, which is the most accurate methodology available to specifically quantify proanthocyanidin content, Pycnogenol yields: 65% Proanthocyanidins 17% Organic acids, organic acid glucosides and glucose esters 15% Catechin and epicatechin (monomers) 3% Water (Although not technically correct, classifying all phenolic components as proanthocyanosides would yield 97% proanthocyanosides)
- Contains NO sugar, starch, artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, corn, soy, yeast, wheat, grain, gluten, egg, or milk products. Suitable for vegans.
